Elements are Everywhere
Lesson #2
Today, we will be investigating four elements: Copper, Aluminium, Carbon, and Sulfur.
You will need the following materials.
Directions
1. Gather your supplies. You should have brought them home from school. If not, see me for your supplies.
2. PUT ON YOUR SAFETY GOGGLES
3. For each of the four elements you are going to do the following
4. Now you are going to write some information in your science notebook.
Copper:
Aluminum:
Carbon:
Sulfur:
5. Pick up the copper, examine it again. Write down if copper is hard or soft, shiny or dull, stiff or bendable. Also write anything else you have observed about copper.
6. Do the same thing with Aluminum
7. Do the same thing with Carbon
8. Do the same thing with Sulfur
9. Now view our video of the periodic table write down where you find each element in the video (beginning, middle, or the end). Watch this video to see what I am talking about VIDEO. Aluminum is done for you.
10. Now look at the periodic table that you will see on the STAR test. CLICK HERE.
You will write the element symbol and atomic number. Aluminum is done for you.
